No, please no more, I don’t think the world has recovered from the cultural rot the original Peter Andre and Kate Price saga inflicted on us via their over publicized lives.
Jordan’s (Katie Price) boyfriend Alex Reid has given the world warning that the apparent new blossoming romance between Jonas and Katia on Big Brother is akin to the relationship between his girlfriend (Katie Price) and her ex-husband Peter Andre.
I wonder if the importance of such a union will have the same impact on mankind’s evolutionary status as that of Katie and Peter (who I have nothing against, its just that they really are not important at all in the larger scheme of things).
In what appears to be scenes of intimacy on big brother’s dirty little night cam, Jonas and Katia have caused an earthquake on the gossip pages dedicated to the promotion of tripe within our society.
I for one feel a certain amount of pity for Ronnie Wood watching these scenes of his ex in the arms of a man less than half his age who is apparently hung like a horse.
Yes he has been painted as a control freak drunken old creep but hey we all have our bad days! some have more bad days than others. I met Ronnie Wood in Dublin Airport in 1996 and I didn’t have a high opinion of him but who am I?
He is a rock legend.
Lets not forget that Ronnie wood HAS had a huge impact on world culture through The Face, The Rolling Stones and a multitude of other great collaborations that have influenced musicians all over the world.
His brain may be a little pickled by years of boozing and drugs so cut him a little slack. Not only is he watching his ex cavort or television with another man, but he is also about to become partly responsible (by making Katia famous through her association to himself, hence her BB appearance) for yet another celebrity couple to entertain thick people with the attention spaN and mental development of goldfish during the later years.
OK he may also be an evil goblin king with no redeeming features except his ability to play the guitar but that is one talent he has, unlike 99% of today’s sub-celebs. Ronnie Wood is no longer at the forefront of music today so even he is getting a little too much media coverage these days.
Where is the new talent that is changing the face of music and not regurgitating the music of yesteryear? Where are these musical cavaliers and where are their antics?
Are today’s musicians too boring to get the media’s attention? Or has it all been done before rendering the shock factor inert?
Or do we need the mad, bad and the dangerous to know? (not some gangster rappers in gold chains singing about how many dogs they have shot and women they have slept with).
Do loud antics and bad behavior herald the entrance and leaving of greatness? I think Lord Byron would say they do and there is a certain panache with the self destructive exhibition performed by true artists. Are these naughty individuals good role models?
No they most certainly are not and not all greatness is followed by a display of drug taking and trashed hotel rooms…..but just look at the great artists of our time and it would appear that there is a common thread that ties these people together and it is a self destructive thread.
Going back to the plot we must then look at the cringe-worthy antics of the sub-celebs who have no style or ability to cause what I would call ‘inspirational pandemonium’.
As loathsome as the union between Ronnie and Katia may be at least it had significance. Personally I think he is a silly old sausage for leaving his gorgeous wife who has stuck by him and his antics over the years and was decent enough to offer him a place to go and spend Christmas with his family, even after he publicly humiliated her with his affair.
But who am I to have a right to pontificate on Ronnie Wood’s life.
He is a rock legend.
So who am I to pontificate on the lives of sub-celebs?
I am one who is sick of the dumbing down of our society with the invasion of individuals who excel at nothing in the world of the arts and most certainly do not warrant the media attention that they get.

…then why are you writing about them, ensuring people’s attention is focused on them? don’t you think your writing might contribute to this overall dumbing down phenomenon? why not write something smart about…something smart?
Answer: stupid sells advertising.
Swiss I like to point out the error in writing about these individuals that’s why I write about them….sounds strange but I try to make readers think about the whole experience of a dumbed down media focusing on dumbed down celebs and I will not hold back.
And yes it sells advertising but so does an article on gilt auctions………
