Russell Brand and Katy Perry in a Christian ceremony in India costing £300,000 at the luxury Aman-e Khas resort with friends and family in what is said to have been a very spiritual wedding.
The wedding was performed by a Christian minister who is a long time friend of Katy’s family even though the speech is said to have included Katy rambling on about reincarnation which is not exactly a Christian belief but each unto their own.
And according to Brand (Mr) there is no Pre-nuptual agreement either.
Russell proposed to Katy in India outside the Taj Mahal back in December last year, so India clearly has special significance to the couple hence the choice of country in which to wed.
By all reports there were camels and elephants galore in this extravagant ceremony which took place near the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary with a vegan banquet and guests in traditional Indian attire.
But apparently being so close to a tiger sanctuary may have back fired as it seems a tiger who had killed 3 people previously was attracted to the noise of the celebrations and thought there may be a meal in it somewhere.
So Katy and Russell had an armed guards for company on their first night as a married couple in the Indian Jungle after the escaped tiger scaled two walls until finally beaten away from the newly weds at a third wall just 50 feet away from the couple and their guests.
P. Diddy performed with dancers in an east meets west celebration with famous guests such as David Baddiel, Rihanna, Jonathan Ross and Jane Goldman present.
Good on em.
Glad to see the young Mr Brand settle down.
