My contention is that overall inflation will not rise by much in the coming year, if at all. However, inflation for big ticket items may well go down as inflation for everyday essentials will, I believe, start going up.

Public state sector workers earn more

With numbers in the region of six million, public sector workers now make up about 20% of the workforce. According to the Sunday Times they also earn on average 7% more than their private sector counterparts, retire earlier with better pensions and work fewer hours. According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS) average public sector pay went up to £22,405 last year but the private sector only enjoyed £20,988 a divide of 7%. …read more
