Lanzarote is located in the Canary Islands but is closer to Africa than Spain, both in climate and geographical location. It hardly ever rains here so the island’s terrain is very dry and the weather is warm and pleasant throughout the year. Lanzarote’s lovely beaches, hot climate and its dramatic volcanic landscape make it an attractive place to stay and an exciting island to explore. There are an abundance of things to see and do during your stay, as well as luxury accommodation where you can kick back and relax.

PapagayosPapagayo Beach is Lanzarote’s most attractive beach, located at the southern tip of the island. This white sandy beach is renowned for having some of the most beautiful weather and is an ideal place to be based during your stay, particularly for a beach holiday. The Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort is a choice accommodation of the area, offering stunning views out to sea and is situated in an ideal location between Playa Blanca and the white sands of Papagayo.

The resort is all inclusive and offers a choice of five restaurants so you won’t get bored of the hotel food during your holiday! With a package holiday, you can save a lot of money on your trip and Jet2holidays offer some low-priced deals that are worth taking advantage of. Everything you will need for a fun-filled holiday is onsite including a tennis court, five swimming pools, a Turkish bath and a disco. Although if you fancy a change of scenery, the hotel runs a free shuttle bus service to the centre of Playa Blanca.

Lanzarote has some wonderful attractions for visitors to enjoy during their stay. The Timanfaya Volcano Park is a spectacular place to visit where you can get a sense of what the world looked like in prehistoric times. The park has over 25 volcanoes in 50 sq km and is a must-see for anyone with an interest in the island’s historic landscape. Lanzarote boasts some impressive views and the best way to experience these is on the Mirador Tour, which takes you all over the island allowing you see the most beautiful and undiscovered sights.

It’s worth exploring a little further afield if you get chance. Lanzarote’s capital Arrecife is a good place to visit if you want to experience the modern side of the island. This lively port city has plenty of nice restaurants and a pretty waterfront location to enjoy.
