Aeryon Labs Inc have developed a ground-breaking new flying surveillance model, which will revolutionise close circuit monitoring forever.
Weighing only 200 grams the Aeryon Scout has a 10x optical video zoom and can operate in nearly all weather conditions with identifiable movements, gestures and objects from 300 meters.
The flying robot has the potential for civil, emergency service and military uses with apparently the highest recording/streaming quality (with optional encrypted transmission) of any flying surveillance module on the market.
The Aeryon Scout can ascend up to 500 feet in the air and has a maximum speed of 30mph.
The controlling unit is similar to a laptop and is easily packed away into a suitcase. The controller itself can use google maps to direct the Aeryon Scout and the video footage can stream straight to an iphone.
It does come with a hefty price tag though.
At £30,000 the Aeryon Scout (which has been created by Aeryon Labs Inc, a Canadian company formed in 2007 ) is not cheap, however it could provide very useful for Police surveillance and much cheaper than using a police helicopter.
Those who are worried that the Aeryon Scot will only add to the already expansive surveillance systems monitoring our lives on a daily basis could be missing a trick here.
The Aeryon Scout could be used by both demonstrator and police alike.
Protest groups could use the Scout to monitor the actions of the Police movements, recording and saving the data for both tactical purposes and to keep a record of Police conduct. As long as they get permission of course!
Once the price comes down the Scout could prove to be a tool of both state and the citizen.
But there will always be a rich peeping Tom who this will appeal to……….
