The Big Brother House was full of emotion last night as Chantelle Houghton and her ex-husband Samuel Preston shared a moment on what would have been their 4th wedding anniversary.
Chantelle got a rather weepy when John McCririck kept on saying they would get back together, Chantelle then trotted of to the bathroom to have a cry and Preston came in and gave her a hug and comforted her.
I may hate reality television with a passion but I am not a cold hearted scoundrel and I thought to myself "this is rather sweet but is there anyone else who could get hurt if they were to rekindle their relationship?".
Then I thought "Is that person stupid to allow their partner to go into an intimate setting with their Ex-Spouse?"…
But then I thought "This really is rather unimportant and to think any more on the matter is a waste of my life".
Yes, yet again we are having the lives of the Thick and Stupid blasted onto our television screens and newspapers to annoy the living daylights out of anyone who has a brain and feed the less intelligent their fix of mind numbing dross.
Thank goodness this is the last time Big Brother will grace our screens….since it began in 2000 the program has done nothing but chip, chip, chip away at our culture. We are now quite happy to have a camera watching us 24/7 thanks to programs like this.
This is what X factor and Big Brother have given us.
Its the "Woo Hoo look at me Mum I'm on the telly" factor that has permeated our society to the point where we now look forward to a good dressing down by Simon Cowell in-front of the camera watched by millions of drooling viewers.
So as a result of the past decade of reality television there are large swathes of our society who want their lives to be monitored by a camera day and night then get humiliated by someone who has no right to do so.
And "Its just a bit of fun" they say…..or "If you don't like it don't watch it"….
My problem to anyone who gives the above replies is this….you clearly do not have the intelligence to grasp what the dangers of watching such programs are and the impact it is having on you.
