With news that some UK MEPs are urging all the MEPs in the EU Parliament to back an extension of the Article 50 timescale, you have to ask yourself, how deep down does this anti-democracy go within the UK establishment?

It's emerged that SNP MEP Alyn Smyth, has sent an E-Mail to all EU Parliament MEPs asking for their backing in extending the Article 50 process.

In response the UKIP leader Gerard Batten said that those who signed it had:

"…revealed themselves for what they are. They are a bunch of snivelling quislings who are desperate to keep their seats on the EU Parliamentary gravy train."

And the former UKIP leader, Nigel Farage MEP, warned that this shows "…there is a palpable level of collusion between the British political class and the EU to stop Brexit."

Smyth's email contained a plea signed by thirteen other UK MEPs, for support to keep the UK in what they call 'our EU family'.

"Despite our political differences, as UK MEPs we are united around one fact: if you wish to allow the UK to remain within our EU family, then all ways to do so will necessitate an extension of the Article 50 timetable." Said the missive.

"Whilst we acknowledge that many details of the next few months remain unclear, it is in a spirit of friendship, solidarity and respect that we ask you, our European friends, to start thinking about this possibility and be ready for this eventuality."

And it transpires that a highly regarded German MEP, Hans-Olaf Henkel, had replied:

"I support everything which would avoid a Brexit, including anything which could delay it. Let me advise you that I have talked to both [European Commission] President [Jean-Claude] Juncker and to [Austrian] Chancellor [Sebastian] Kurz about our initiative."

And the words 'our initiative' should give the game away of course.

And Henkel also said that he had received unofficial agreement on this from Juncker and official agreement from Kurz.

Nigel Farage went on to roundly denounce the actions of the UK MEPs involved, saying in the Telegraph that they showed utter contempt for their own people in signing such a letter and were conspiring with the Germans to ensure the UK cannot become competitive post-Brexit.

"I think their intention is to derail Article 50. I call that a collusion against democracy. And I believe they should all hang their heads in shame." He said.

And Gerard Batten also said that they were utterly contemptible as well as:

"It just goes to show how membership of the European Union has rotted the soul of some of our political class and the sooner we leave the better."

And that was exactly what the whole EU system was set up to do of course – to make those that work in it 'go native' and end up living, breathing and thinking the EU way and forget their own pesky nation states.

The full list of those UK MEPs who signed it, is below.

And you do have to wonder in what other way some of these UK MEPs may have been undermining their 'UK family' on behalf of their 'EU family', don't you?

And all this comes at the same time as we hear that there is a government Brexit Communications Grid summary that shows a choreography behind the whole Brexit affair.

As I've said before, the whole system is being geared up and feared up for Brussels and Westminster to either take Theresa May's Chequers based Brexit In Name Only (BRINO) deal or no-deal.

And with a recent increase in no-deal WTO Brexit fear-mongering, then you can see one of two outcomes.

The first is that both sides agree to keep the UK strapped to the EU via the Chequers BRINO deal so that the UK can be reeled back in when it suits the EU.

Or there is a no-deal Brexit, or WTO Brexit as it should be called, outcome with everyone from the PM, big business, EU, civil service and mainstream press running around all panicky, while wringing their hands and calling it a disastrous calamity using the old claims of grounded planes, no food in the shops, no medicine for the NHS etc etc etc.

And that is when the demands will be made to approach the EU for a Brexit killing extension to Article 50, at which point I would suspect the PM and her weak cabinet to cave in and put that to the house and all those Remain MPs and peers will jump on it and pass it within minutes.

The UK will then be forced to go cap in hand to the EU and offer them anything they want to extend Article 50.

And I would bet that the terms of that scenario have already been, or are on the verge of being, agreed.

This would entail the UK staying in the EU, contributing fully to the next EU budget round – probably without a rebate – as well as holding EU MEP elections next year.

But worse it would ensure that whole new rafts of EU legislation will be passed that the UK will have to obey – new finance, economic, tax, defence and foreign policy rules, just for starters, that will strip the UK of any vestige of sovereignty and independence.

Neither Chequers, nor extending Article 50, can be allowed to happen!
