Nigel Farage, the former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), has made a new video (below) called 'Brexit: Why Britain Left the European Union' in which he calls the EU a 'conspiracy of the elites'.
He then asks 'Who are those elites', then gives the answer as a "….bunch of self-important, overpaid social engineers with useless college degrees, who have never done a proper day's work in their lives and have no connection with ordinary decent people".
He goes on to say that Europe, as a continent, is an exciting and vibrant place but that the people that live inside the EU have been effectively hi-jacked by a giant ever expanding bureaucracy.
"People will say, "but isn't there a parliament, a European parliament, that represents the people of Europe?" Well, yes, but this body has got no real power; it can't make its own laws. Rather, the power resides with the European Commission. They're unelected and they can't be removed, and that's how absurd the whole thing is." Says Farage in the video.
The video produced by Prager University (PragerU) appears to be aimed more at EU citizens than the UK political market, as he goes through many of the arguments he made made during the run-up to the UK In/Out EU Referendum in 2016 and also ends by saying that he is certain that the French and Italians would mirror the UK by ending up not wanting to give up their national rights just because some Eurocrat wants to tell them how to live.
