The Danish stock exchange company GXG Markets is due to launch a UK arm to its business this week, which will be offering finance opportunities to small and medium sized companies needing cash to expand.
This is Money reports that this business will be opened under laws that allow regulated exchanges to operate in other EU member states.
GXG Markets (gxgmarkets.co.uk) is a Danish recognised investment exchange (RIE) and will be passported under MiFID and allowed to operate a small-cap market in the UK under its Danish licence and regulations.
GXG Markets are now building up momentum and a list of companies and stockbrokers registered to use the system, which gives a private trading service, a lightly regulated market and a fully regulated one.
With the current lending problem in the UK where banks appear to be sitting on cash rather than lending it to businesses, GXG hopes that this business model will bring in small and medium sized companies looking to find investors.
