Well, that's the way to launch a Tory party leadership bid – get into the news with an eventful speech.

Esther McVey, was in mid flow of a speech at a Bruges Group event in London this afternoon, when an agitated Brexiteer stormed the stage, grabbed the microphone and shouted:

"You are fake news! Fake Tories!"

He went on to say that the UK had already left the EU and that a judicial review case was going through the High Court right now that would prove it.

He was referring to the Robin Tilbrook case progressing through the court, that claims that the first Article 50 extension was unlawful, so the UK had already therefore left the EU at 11pm on the 29th March 2019.

The man involved identified himself as Graham Moore, who many will recognise from the video in the Express article and on the ITV News web-site as one Daddy Dragon who has interviewed Robin Tilbrook on his YouTube channel.

In a video on his Facebook page, Mr Moore earlier sent a message to both Esther McVey and to Dominic Raab saying:

"We can sort this out, all you have got to do is talk about ‘the case’ – that case, and converse with Robin Tilbrook.

"Put politics aside, deal with the rule of law. The constitution is the solution 100% here.

"Now you've got a double edge sword at your disposal. You said ‘in your tools is your armoury', it’s in your quiver.

"Let me tell you something, every constitutional arrow that you use, in defence of this country will be supported by the Brexiteers.

"If you don’t mention the case, we look at you and say ‘you’re not on the team’, be the team, lead the team."

And he went on to say that both Esther McVey and Dominic Raab could push this forward.

In his intervention, Mr Moore said that he was a fully paid up member of the Conservative Party (which might not be for that much longer), as well as saying:

"Excuse me, you are all fake news and these people are fake Conservatives."

Now, if Esther was either unaware or only vaguely aware of the Tilbrook case this morning, she has been brought rudely up to date with it now – as will much of the country.

Wonder if she or Dominic will now raise the profile of the case ….. or not?

In her speech in London, Esther McVey said she would give the public sector a pay rise and give more funding to the police and education and that her clear agenda was to deliver Brexit on the 31st of October.

But I don't think many people will be remembering her Bruges Group speech today for its content, do you?
