Having just completed a two year driving ban for driving under the influence of drugs, George Michael attracted the attention of his local constabulary when the vehicle he was driving was reportedly in collision with a building.
The 47 year old former Wham! singing star’s Range Rover was caught on CCTV mounting the kerb and smashing into the front of ‘Happy Snaps’ a photo developers shop in Hampstead Heath near his Highgate home at about 3:30 am Sunday morning. The damage to the shop front appears to be minimal, a couple of broken windows and some cracked woodwork.
George Michael remained at the scene until the police arrived and, insisting he had not been drinking, was not breathalysed. He was then taken to the police station and bailed until 13th August.
In 2006 George Michael was found slumped over the wheel of a car then again in 2007 he received a two year driving ban. He claimed at the time to have been tired and on prescription drugs.
Last August his Land Rover was in collision with a lorry but he was not charged and said that he did nothing wrong.
According to the Mail the singer is a self-confessed cannabis user and has been involved in seven driving incidents that the police have been called to.
Poor old George doesn’t seem to have much luck as a driver. Maybe it’s time for the guy to employ the services of a good, reliable and very very discrete chauffeur.
