That icon of British comedy, Jennifer Saunders is out and about again after beating off cancer and being given the all clear in June. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer back in October and luckily caught it early enough for treatment.
She attended the 'Chariots of Fire' relay race in Cambridge yesterday (Sunday) with her pet puppy whippet and, judging by the pictures in the Mail, she looked to be enjoying herself and well on the way back to health.
She fired the starting gun for the event and quipped that she wouldn't be running today as she was in training for the 2012 Olympics.
She was sporting a short elfin style haircut now that she has ditched the blond wig now her hair is growing back after the arduous radio and chemotherapy she underwent. It suits her so well that we may see a flurry of women looking to emulate it.
The 52 year-old actress seems to be bouncing back from an illness that she faced bravely and did not talk in public about.
Let's hope that she recovers fully so that we can see her back on our screens again with the good, fresh and funny material we all know she can create.
She has thoroughly deserved her awards listed in Wiki as "a two-time BAFTA, International Emmy Award , British Comedy Award, Rose d'Or Light Entertainment Festival Award, two-time Writers' Guild of Great Britain Award, and Peoples Choice Award winning English comedienne, screenwriter, singer and actress".
