Toyota pledges to stay in the UK whatever the EU in/out referendum brings

Richard Tice, co-founder of the Leave.EU campaign, has welcomed news that Toyota has pledged to stay in the UK whether or not it votes to leave the European Union.

Toyota should be applauded for its willingness to tell the truth that the UK is a great place to do business and make things. Toyota will not be the last as others foreign employers like BMW, Nissan, General Motors and Jaguar Land Rover continue to commit themselves and extend their British investments whether or not the UK is in or out of the EU.

"The repeated scare stories about a threat to UK jobs and investment just don’t stack up and are denied by those that take the decisions, the CEOs and directors of leading manufacturers.

“The truth about foreign investment in the UK is the opposite of the scaremongering: the EU holds us back and we could be even more successful outside it.

“Volkswagen has declared that it considers the UK "a good place for investment" regardless of a Brexit vote. When BMW-owned Rolls-Royce Motor Cars was asked if it might pull out the CEO's response was literally ‘Are you kidding me?’ Executives from General Motors and Nissan have also committed their companies to staying in the UK while Jaguar Land Rover is investing £120m in a new manufacturing plant.

“Even Stuart Rose, the chairman of the official pro-EU campaign, said as recently as last April that it is ‘ridiculous to suggest everybody is going to suddenly go offshore, I don't believe that for one moment'.
