The global investment bank Nomura has announced today that it has enhanced its team with the hiring of Ellen Zentner as Executive Director and Senior Economist for the US.

Ms. Zentner comes from the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi in New York where she was Senior US Macro Economist covering macro-economic forecasting, policy and financial market analysis.

She also has a strong track record with the media regularly appearing on such sources as Bloomberg News, CNBC and CBS News.

Ms Zentner's responsibilities will include the provision of in-depth research and analysis on the macro-economic trends that affect the US economy and also being proactive in identifying those market data anomalies that could signal significant economic changes.

'We are delighted to welcome someone of Ellen's considerable experience and deep insight on the US economy to Nomura's already strong US and global economics team' said Paul Sheard, Chief Global Economist and Head of Economic Research.

Ms Zentner will be joining a global economics team of over 30 economists covering Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America, with the Americas research team being ranked number seven in the Institutional Investor’s most recent All-America Fixed Income Research Team Survey.
