Unless you've been living under a rock for the last 10 years you will most likely have heard of the "Tony Hawk Series". This is a set of games that allows the player to live out their fantasy of becoming a skater without actually having to leave the comfort of their own living room. Now its biggest rival has come around for round 3, ‘Skate 3’ is the third game in the franchise and it allows the player to be immersed in a realistic world of skate boarding mayhem, with realistic physics that make "Tony Hawk" look like it's just been cooked up in a garden shed by a 15 year old.
Skate 3 is an all round dream of a game that will keep you entertained for hours on end. For those of you who have played Skate 1 and 2 you will not be disappointed, it has lost none of its classic and innovative game play. This time around however, graphically it's far slicker and looks almost HD even when the setting isn't on, due to its extremely smooth and well created environment.
The stories in the first and second games were quite simple. Here's a skateboard get yourself known. However this time it's more a case of building a skate empire with your own brand and what not. You will see billboards you customize all around the city the bigger you get! It's the little things that make a game something special and this game has tons of new small features that will make it just that little bit more fun. Such as the new object spawner that lets you place any kind of rail, ramp, bench, table anywhere you like! This makes for new spots that you yourself can create!
It also has a ‘create a park’ mode for the ultimate customisation. If you have online you can even upload your park for you and your friends to play. For first time players don't fear getting the new game without playing the first ones as it's extremely easy to get to grips with thanks to its new physics settings that differ from easy to hardcore. If you choose hardcore it makes it harder to land tricks and grind making it that little bit more challenging and a lot of fun. If you play it on easy it assists you onto rails and makes everything just that little bit easier for first time players.
Made by EA and Black Box this title will be released on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. It's out on the 14th of May so get saving everyone! I'm going to give this baby an amazing 9/10!
