Actor Robert Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight film adaptations, is actually related to Vlad the Impaler the inspiration for Bram Stocker's Dracula.
Twilight fans around the world will be celebrating the news that their hero may actually share family ties with a notorious and blood thirsty family, oh and related to Dracula.
Family tree researchers have discovered that Pattinson's ancestry leads straight back to a Yorkshire family called Pickering, which the royal princes William and Harry are also descended from.
The Pickering family is then related to Vlad III the Impaler who is a distant uncle to both the royal princes and Robert Pattinson.
Stephenie Meyer, who is the author of the highly successful Twilight books, is also a distant cousin to William and Harry and also Dracula so it looks like this is a heavy coincidental alignment between Robert and Stephenie with regards to ancestry.
Mind you conspiracy theorist will be jumping for joy more than the Twilight fans at this news and royal reptilian bloodlines like those proposed by David Icke will be the chatter of many a conspiracy forum as we speak.
Vlad the the Impaler got his name by, yes you guessed it, impaling people with a wooden stake as well as numerous other forms of torture and executions for those he didn't like.
The wooden stake has since entered modern folklore as the method for disposing of a pesky vampire by driving it through his heart.
Oh well there we have it vampires, actors, writers, royalty and an evil uncle.
Sounds like the plot for a B-movie horror.
But the news that Pattinson is related to Vlad the impaler couldn't come at a better time when the new Twilight film 'Eclipse' is getting ready for its cinematic release.
