Discount broker Willis Owen today reveals that Neil Woodford’s CF Woodford Equity Income C Fund is the best-selling fund among its customers for the third month in a row.
This also helped the UK Equity Income sector remain the most popular sector for its customers in October.
This mirrors the national picture, with the latest figures from the IMA showing UK Equity Income is the bestselling sector nationally with net sales of £729 million in October.
Overall retail sales in October were at £2.0billion, just below the £2.1billion recorded last October.
Jason Chapman, Managing Director at Willis Owen, commented:
“The national investment figures for October represent something of a bounce back, following a slow summer period. The continued popularity of UK Equity Income funds is further evidence of the UK’s attractiveness as a retail investment destination – let’s not forget it is the fastest growing economy in the developed world this year.
“At Willis Owen, Neil Woodford remains a particularly popular choice. But we have seen strong interest too in global technology funds and also in health, which suggests our customers recognise the importance of not putting all eggs in one basket when it comes to investments. It will be interesting to see how the markets fare as we approach Christmas, and whether the so-called Santa Rally materialises.”
